Never too old for some Macau attractions...
Now it may be a surprise to many of you but after yesterdays experience I today opted against the anti aging juice and instead went all out for the energy juice.
Rather embarrassingly given my public criticism of her product I was later introduced to Ann who is the lady at the Sofitel responsible for producing yesterdays rogue batch of anti aging juice (she looks about 90 when in fact she was 32). In all seriousness she was actually really lovely and she even gave me the “secret” anti aging ingredients which I am sharing with the world (photo below). She also surprised me with a print of the city skyline which she spotted I had been admiring on the wall of the restaurant – little acts of unexpected kindness always mean the most even though i am still old and overweight…
So feeling happy and revitalised we decided to visit some more of the iconic sights and Macau attractions ….
Pineapples & Bungee...
As long standing tour operator professionals on a much needed holiday we decided to visit a few hotels. Beachcomber don’t even sell Macau so what the hell was I thinking?? The first stop was the Grand Lisboa hotel which is the iconic golden pineapple shaped building. I would normally hate this kind of glitzy monstrosity however I loved it because it is so very different to anything else. We then visited the Wynn and the MGM both of which are full of high end shops and the mandatory casino which was packed at 11am. So not for me but whatever floats your boat.
Next stop for panoramic views of the city and bungee jumping was the Macau Tower. The CN tower of the east and one of the top Macau attractions. It was £17 quid to get in and 58 floors up then areas of glass flooring which always freak me out but hey it was a ✅
Japan is calling...finally
We then prepared to leave crazy but wonderful Macau and promptly found out that there are only two ferries a day to Hong Kong airport. In addition to this demonstrations were planned, the weather was turning in and taxis are not so prevalent on Sundays!
Thankfully we made it to the airport and after a booze fuelled airport delay with an evil barman serving free vodka shots we finally tottered on to Jetstars daily 01:35 red eye service to Tokyo. Wedged between us slim lads on the flight was a young Japanese sniffer who was 4 foot tall in extra legroom seats. Please just frigging get me to Japan!
