The Travel Bookshop Is Now Open

Bookshop, reading, books

As someone who has always favoured the underdog – the David rather than the Goliath – I have decided to work with Bookshop.org to financially support local, independent bookshops.

Now that may seem odd when I myself only have an online travel blog?

As more and more people buy their books online, Bookshop.org is a simple, convenient way for you to get your books and support independent bookshops at the same time. For every sale, 10% of the cover price of your order will contribute to an earnings pool that will be evenly distributed every month among participating independent bookshops.

Whether you choose to buy books here or not its a great reference guide for when you are making that choice for researching a trip or finding that holiday read for the beach.

I have set up a variety of different sets of travel related book lists – initially by continent so Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Caribbean, Central America, Europe, Indian Ocean, Middle East, North America, Oceania, South America. I have however also added a few of other categories like great Summer Holiday Reads to hopefully inspire you in advance of your next trip, holiday or adventure.

Please if you have read a wonderful fact or fictional travel related book, and of course enjoyed it, then please drop me a note on the post in my facebook page and I will gladly add it to the relevant category.

We hope that my partnership with Bookshop.org can help strengthen the fragile ecosystem around bookselling and keep local bookshops an integral part of our culture and communities.

Till next time
